What is the Difference Between Microblading and Powder Brows?

Updated: Sep 27, 2022

Both are permanent makeup procedures and considered a tattoo that typically last 1-3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine.

For both procedure the artist carefully takes your skin type, tone, lifestyle into account to pick the suitable pigment color to match the natural brow.

Microblading

This procedure is done by using a hand tool with ultra fine needles and each ‘hair’ is gently etched into the skin, giving an incredibly natural and realistic look. Microblading can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct a lost eyebrow and is excellent for those wanting to enhance their brows or who have little to no eyebrows, thinning brows from age or over-tweezed brows. This procedure is best for normal to dry skin.

Powder/Shading/Ombre

Is a different technique of depositing pigment into the skin with a machine and needle cartridge. It gives an illusion of a fuller, more powdered or penciled in brow, and helps blend areas with very little hair to areas that have thicker, dense hair. This procedure works well on all skin types.

Combo Brows

Is a combination of both microblading and Powder for a natural look perfect for most skin types.

Your artist will discuss which procedure is best for your skin and lifestyle.
